في كلية الاقتصاد والعلوم السياسية بجامعة الخرطوم: وفي امتحان ورقة علم الاستشراف والمستقبليات كان السؤال الرابع: (في قراءة للفترة الانتقالية القادمة، عليك أن تجيب بتوقعاتك القائمة على العلمية والوقائع نتيجة الانتخابات للجمعية التأسيسية القادمة). ابتسم الدكتور طويلا وهو يصحح ورقة الطالبة هادية راشد الشريف التي كانت اجابتها كالآتي:
هنا إذاعة امدرمان ننقل لكم من مقر لجنة الانتخابات بالخرطوم النتيجة النهائية لانتخابات الجمعية التأسيسية :
1/ اكتسحت القائمة الموحدة لتحالف القوى الوطنية المؤيدة للوحدة والشرعية والقوات المسلحة كل الدوائر بكل ولايات السودان – الدائرة الوحيدة التي أفلتت من التحالف هي دائرة العمارات والديوم التي فاز بها الدكتور الشفع خضر الذي خاضها كمستقل وكان أقوى المرشحين لسكرتارية الحزب الشيوعي قبل ابعاده من الحزب بأشهر، حيث تم تنصيب محمد مختار الخطيب الذي فقد دائرته بحلفا الجديدة
2/ وقد فقد صديق الصادق المهدي دائرة الجبلين في مواجهة الدكتور الصادق الهادي المهدي كما أن الفريق عبد الرحمن الصادق الذي كان من ضمن قائمة قوى تحالف القوى الوطنية قد فاز بالاجماع في دائرة الجزيرة أبا وفقدت مريم الصادق المهدي دائرة ودنوباوي كما فقد ابراهيم الميرغني دائرة بحري لصالح اشراقة سيد محمود، وقد فقد الواثق البرير دائرته بالخرطوم غرب، و فازت الشاعرة روضة الحاج بإحدى دوائر كسلا
3/ أما حزب البعث العربي الاشتراكي وحزب المؤتمر السوداني والتجمع الاتحادي (فلم ينجح أحد!). وقد علَق خالد (ٍسلك) الذي خسر دائرة فداسي أمام الدكتور المغيرة رملي لمراسلنا عن النتيجة قائلا: لقد نصحتهم مرارا بان الشعب لن ينتخب القوى العلمانية للبرلمان ولكن لم يصدقني أحد كما يقول أهلنا المكتولة ما بتسمع الصايحة!.

At the Faculty of Economics and Political Science at the University of Khartoum — during the exam for the course Foresight and Future Studies — the fourth question stated:
“Based on your reading of the upcoming transitional period, provide scientifically grounded, reality-based predictions for the results of the next Constituent Assembly elections.”
The professor smiled for a long time as he corrected the exam paper of the student Hadia Rashid Al-Sharif, whose answer read as follows:
“Here is Radio Omdurman, broadcasting to you from the headquarters of the Election Commission in Khartoum the final results of the Constituent Assembly elections:
1. The unified list of the National Forces Alliance — which supports unity, legitimacy, and the Armed Forces — has swept all constituencies across every state of Sudan. The only constituency that escaped the Alliance was Al-Amarat and Al-Diyum, which was won by Dr. Al-Shafi‘ Khidr, who ran as an independent. He had been one of the strongest candidates for the Secretariat of the Communist Party before being removed months earlier, after which Mohamed Mukhtar Al-Khateeb — who later lost his constituency in New Halfa — was appointed.
2. Siddiq Al-Sadiq Al-Mahdi lost the Al-Jabalayn constituency to Dr. Al-Sadiq Al-Hadi Al-Mahdi. Lieutenant General Abdulrahman Al-Sadiq, who was part of the National Forces Alliance list, won the Al-Jazira Aba constituency unanimously. Maryam Al-Sadiq Al-Mahdi lost the Wad Nubawi constituency, and Ibrahim Al-Mirghani lost the Bahri constituency to Ishraqa Sayed Mahmoud. Al-Wathiq Al-Barir also lost his Khartoum West constituency, while poet Rawda Al-Haj won one of the constituencies in Kassala.
3. As for the Arab Socialist Ba’ath Party, the Sudanese Congress Party, and the Federal Gathering, none of them won a single seat.
Khalid Selik, who lost the Fadasi constituency to Dr. Al-Mughira Ramli, commented on the results to our correspondent, saying: “I kept warning them that the people would not elect the secular forces to parliament, but no one believed me… As our folks say: the one doomed doesn’t hear the warning cry.”
