البرقية التي يرسلها الجميع للسيد رئيس الوزراء الدكتور كامل الطيب إدريس مفادها باختصار: أننا نعلم أنك رجل فيه دماثة خلق وطيب معشر وتواضع يليق بالعلماء ولكن الطريقة التي عالجت بها استعادة المذيعة لينا يعقوب للعمل فيها كثير من النظر والانتقاد المشروع، فالشعب السوداني مثل كل شعوب الأرض يحب في القيادي المسؤول الاستبداد الحميد، وقليل من الاستبداد مفيد وكثيره مضر مثل ملح الطعام. والاستبداد أيضا محمود في المرأة الجميلة، ذات الأنفة والرفعة، ألم تسمع قديما شاعر الغزل الشهير عمر بن أبي ربيعة:
ليت هندا أنجزتنا ما تعد
وشفت أنفسنا مما تجد
واستبدت مرة واحدة
إنما العاجز من لا يستبد!
إننا يا سيادة رئيس الوزراء لا ننتظر منك استبدادا لمرة واحدة، بل ألف مرة ضد أعداء بلادنا الذين يقفون على الأبواب.

The message being sent by everyone to Prime Minister Dr. Kamil Al-Tayeb Idris can be summarized as follows: We know that you are a man of noble character, pleasant demeanor, and humility befitting a scholar. However, the way you handled the reinstatement of broadcaster Lina Yaqoub has raised many questions and legitimate criticism. The Sudanese people, like all nations on earth, appreciate in a responsible leader a form of benevolent firmness. A little firmness is useful, while too much becomes harmful—just like table salt. Firmness is also admired in a beautiful woman of pride and dignity. Haven’t you heard the famous lines of the renowned love poet Omar ibn Abi Rabiah:
If only Hind would fulfill what she promised,
and soothe the longing in our hearts.
If only she would be firm with us just once—
for only the incapable fails to be firm!
Your Excellency, we are not asking you for firmness just once, but a thousand times—against the enemies of our country who stand at the gates.
